Camino Dreamin’

There are different levels of accommodation on the Camino, but the “albergues” or Pilgrim refuges often are far from luxury.

It is a real learning experience to harken back to Maslow’ hierarchy of needs and realize that all I really need is someplace I’m not freezing nor being rained upon.

Generally the places have bunks for 20 plus pilgrims, and generally about half are snoring. I’ve become an aficionado of earplugs, have slept outdoors on the beach, and when I hit REM stage, dream of a king size at Canyon Ranch.
